NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nevada (CNN) -- At a time when the U.S. Air Force is having a hard time filling cockpits and flight lines, its famous demonstration squadron, the Thunderbirds, remains a spine-tingling sales pitch of spit and polish and precision.
