Video: Bush, Gore wrestle over education reform
March 20, 2000
Web posted at: 5:32 p.m. EST (2232 GMT)
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In recent years, education has been an issue that has helped Democrats win elections. Can the presumptive Republican nominee, Texas Gov. George W. Bush -- who has made education reform a centerpiece of his presidential campaign -- change that? He sure is trying. The Texas governor has already launched a series of attack ads on the issue aimed at his Democratic presidential rival, Vice President Al Gore.
CNN's Bruce Morton examines recent polls showing voters appear to be giving Bush the benefit of the doubt, and how the education issue will play in this season's presidential election.
