John Lennon museum opens outside Tokyo

SAITAMA, Japan -- John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, on Monday celebrated what would have been his 60th birthday by opening a museum dedicated to his memory just outside Tokyo.
The museum is the first in the world dedicated to the former Beatle, who was shot dead in New York when he was 40. It will display 130 items that belonged to Lennon, including family photos, handwritten song lyrics and his trademark wire-rimmed spectacles.
Lennon's birthday was also marked by other events around the world and by the re-issue of his post-Beatle solo albums "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band" and "Double Fantasy."
Both of the re-issued albums contain extra songs that were not included on the original releases.
