(CNN) -- The growing AIDS crisis in Africa has humanitarian groups and politicians debating the best approach to stem the pandemic disease on that continent.

More than 2 million people died from AIDS in Africa in 1999, leaving behind 10.4 million children under 15. Many of those children lost both parents to the disease and are now orphans.

And the problem isn't expected to better soon. A White House report released last year predicts 40 million African children will be orphaned by AIDS in the next decade.

Medical Correspondent Eileen O'Connor gives us a look at what Congress is doing to help and introduces us to a doctor who is in Africa working for change.
