The Doors make available unreleased performances, recordings

graphic

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Doors fans can expect to get an earful this week. Almost 30 hours of unreleased concert material and rare studio recordings are being made available by the band's label, Bright Midnight.

The first three titles to be released are: "The Bright Midnight Sampler," featuring eight concert highlights from 1970; "The Doors Live in Detroit," one of the longest sets the band ever performed; and "No One Here Gets Out Alive," the first syndicated Doors radio special in which the three surviving members -- John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek -- discuss Jim Morrison's death and legacy.

The recordings were discovered as The Doors' audio and film archives were being consolidated. They had been sitting in various record company storage facilities all over the world.

Altogether Bright Midnight plans to release release six titles a year, over the next six years. The first three titles are available only online at www.thedoors.com.
