Emmy-nominated TV movies found on video

(CNN) -- If you didn't catch the Emmy-nominated programs and performances the first time around, some have already surfaced -- or are about to -- on video and DVD. Here's a sampling:

Arabian Nights

Based on the ancient stories know as A Thousand and One Nights, "Arabian Nights' is a mystical extravaganza. The four-hour movie (which originally aired this spring) delivers 6 tales of Scheherazade, a young bride spinning stories to save her life. The big-budget movie was filmed in Turkey and Morocco and stars Mili Avital as Scheherazade. Other notable performances include John Leguizamo as bottle-up genie found by Aladdan (Jason Scott Lee).

Annie

Unlike its poorly received 1982 predecessor, Disney's remake of "Annie" drew widespread acclaim during its 1999 airing on ABC. The pared-down adaptation of the hit Broadway musical tells the familiar tale of a precocious redhead who falls in with kindly billionaire Oliver Warbucks after fleeing an orphanage run by cruel Mrs. Hannigan. In the title role, Alicia Morton joins a star-studded cast that includes Kathy Bates, Alan Cumming, Audra McDonald and Victor Garber.

RKO 281

The HBO film recounts Orson Welles' daunting effort to make "Citizen Kane," a thinly veiled story about media magnate William Randolph Hearst. Liev Schreiber ("Scream," "A Walk on the Moon") stars as the young director, pitted against a powerful publisher (James Cromwell) who tries to prevent the film -- now considered one of America's greatest -- from being released. "RKO" also features Melanie Griffith, Roy Scheider, John Malkovich and Brenda Blethyn.

If These Walls Could Talk 2

(Release date: October 10)

The original "If These Walls Could Talk" dealt with abortion, while HBO's follow-up trilogy explores the lives of lesbians over three generations. In the first, Vanessa Redgrave plays a woman coping both with the illness of her longtime partner and ostracism from the woman's blood relatives. In another segment featuring Chloe Sevigny and Michelle Williams, a group of lesbians is kicked out of a campus women's group. In the third, directed by Anne Heche, Sharon Stone and Ellen DeGeneres play a couple who decide to have a baby.

    Jesus

Jeremy Sisto stars in the three-hour, CBS-produced miniseries that traces Jesus' adult life and death -- including the Sermon on the Mount, the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. The cast also includes Jacqueline Bisset as Mary, Gary Oldman as Pontius Pilate and Debra Messing as Mary Magdalene.

    Introducing Dorothy Dandridge

Halle Berry stars as Dorothy Dandridge, the first black actress to receive a Best Actress Oscar nomination (for "Carmen Jones" in 1954). The HBO film examines her life as a singer on the club circuit, her film career, the challenges she faced as a black performer in a segregated society and her death from prescription drugs in 1965. Klaus Maria Brandauer plays director Otto Preminger, with whom Dandridge had an affair.

    David Copperfield

Bob Hoskins, Ian McKellen and Emmy-nominated Maggie Smith lead a large cast in this 1999 BBC version of Charles Dickens' coming-of-age classic.

    Freedom Song

Directed by Phil Alden Robinson ("Field of Dreams"), the TNT- produced film features Danny Glover in a story about the civil rights movement's effects on a Mississippi town. It's told from the perspective of a local black teen (Vicellous Reon Shannon) who is inspired when an organizer from the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee comes to town.

Sex and the City -- The complete first season

TV viewers who missed out on Sarah Jessica Parker's popular HBO series can see all 12 episodes from its initial 1998 run, packaged in a three-tape set. Based on a book by Candace Bushnell, the racy comedy explores the sex lives of four Manhattan women.

    Chris Rock: Bigger & Blacker

Comedian and former "Saturday Night Live" star Chris Rock's profanity- laced stand-up appearance at the Apollo Theater in Harlem was recorded for a one-hour HBO special.
