Betsey Johnson
Betsey Johnson's spring show put the fun back into fashion and
the crowd loved it. The theme was Playboy Bunnies, with many models
sporting bunny ears on top of big, bleached blond hair and blue Barbie
doll eye shadow. Everything was revealing and tight from the bright
yellow halter top dress with a lightning bolt to the denim halters,
bikinis and striped sailor tees paired with shorts and skirts. Fuzzy
pink sweaters, sequined capris, lacy negligees, diaphanous short gathered
chiffon frocks and gaudy bright flower dresses worn with huge gold
hoop earrings added to the trailer park chic feel.
Vivienne Tam
New York was the inspiration behind Vivienne Tam's spring collection.
Iridescent, sparkling and shiny clothes graced the runway, capturing
the city's shimmering lights. There were pink and coral metal sequin
dresses with plunging necklines and cascading net print dresses. Jade
leather-trimmed knit halter tops and tees were paired with multi-print
pleat skirts while black metal ring halters and dresses played into
Tam's NY tough chic vision. Glitzy and sexy black halter tops, jackets,
dresses and skirts had a touch of white crystal beading to give this
homage to New York a downtown feel.
