(IDG) -- Creative Computers will launch a new portal targeting the Linux community next month at LinuxWorld Expo in New York, the company has announced.

Designed to serve as a one-stop Linux site, eLinux.com will offer information about products, news, discussion forums and other content related to the open-source operating system, according to a statement from Creative Computers, which is in the process of changing its name to IdeaMall.

In addition, Creative Computers via eLinux.com will offer its own-brand computers, including OpenServe Servers, OpenPro Systems and OpenBook Notebooks, all of which will be custom configured with Red Hat's Linux distribution.

The company plans to draw users to its site by compiling a printed "product guide" of its online offerings and mailing it to Linux users as well as distributing copies at LinuxWorld.

Other Creative Computers sites include consumer retailer ecost.com, business-to-business retailer PCM.com and small to medium enterprise retailer PCMall.com.
