(CNN) -- What innovations are on the way to wean the driving public from gasoline?
One innovation is the hybrid-electric vehicle, such as the ESX-3 from DaimlerChrysler, an experimental car the automaker says could go 72 miles on a gallon of gas. Also planned are fuel cell cars, which run on electricity generated by hydrogen.
