Kylie is new face of Eurostar
LONDON, England -- Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has been unveiled as the new face of Channel Tunnel train operator Eurostar.
The diminutive singer is due to appear in a new television advertisement which pictures her travelling through the tunnel to Paris to enjoy a day's shopping.
Minogue follows in the footsteps of ex-Manchester United football star Eric Cantona and Hollywood actor John Malkovich, who was the face of Eurostar's last advertising campaign.
A Eurostar statement said: "If a Eurostar trip is what accounts for Kylie's boundless energy, then it's clearly the tonic everyone needs."
The singer is currently in a head-to-head chart battle with Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.
Both have solo single racing up the British charts and are racing for number one.
Experts predict that, like the Ashes, Australia will win.
The singer previously known as Posh Spice has released her first solo release, Not Such An Innocent Girl.
But Minogue's Can't Get You Out Of My Head is said to be outselling it by eight to one.
She told the Press Association: "When I first heard that my single was being released in the same week as hers I called my manager and asked if anyone had thought about moving it forward or delaying it.
"But then I thought, everything has been planned for this particular week and if I release mine a week early or a week later I am still going to be in competition with someone so I thought, oh well whatever, it will be OK."
