Preview: 'Virtua Fighter 4'
(IDG) -- Sega hit the world with one major announcement after another recently, but perhaps the biggest news is that the next "Virtua Fighter" game will be released on the PlayStation 2. But don't put in your pre-order just yet. As is standard practice for the series, "Virtua Fighter 4" will first make it's debut in the arcades on the Naomi 2 hardware that is an ultra powered up version of the Dreamcast. The amazing shots you see below are from the arcade version, and are far beyond anything yet seen on any home or arcade console. The gameplay will stay true to what fans have come to expect, but there will be a few new twists. Incredible details in the texture of the clothes and breakthrough facial animation are just some of the top notch bells and whistles. The PS2 version will be programmed from the ground up which means Sega will take full advantage of the systems power. Hopefully, this means that the PS2 will be able to deliver a perfect arcade conversion. "Virtua Fighter 4" does not yet have a firm release date or solid U.S. confirmation, but we'll keep you updated. RELATED STORIES:
