Firefighters resuce stranded riders from the Zoomerang.

HARTFORD, Connecticut (CNN) -- One day after a worker was killed by a roller coaster at a Connecticut amusement park, another coaster got stuck, stranding 26 passengers for 90 minutes.

A steel roller coaster with loop-de-loops called the Zoomerang became stuck Thursday at the end of its run shortly before noon at Lake Compounce Amusement Park.

"The ride, on its return run to the station, passed through the station and proceeded partially up the initial lift hill. The momentum of the ride carried it back past the station and it came to a stop in a relatively level area," according to a statement released by park officials.

The Bristol and Southington fire departments were called to help the riders get down. Most of the riders were off before 1 p.m. There were no injuries.

"No passengers were positioned upside down as they waited to be evacuated and all passengers were provided with bottled water," the park statement said.

Park officials say the ride was inspected just hours before the incident. The cause is being investigated.

In the Wednesday accident, a 23-year-old groundskeeper died after he was hit by an empty roller coaster during a morning test run of the Boulder Dash before the park opened, said Southington Police Lt. Greg Simone.

Simone said Wilfredo Martinez was using a weed trimmer under the coaster tracks. At some point, the coaster struck his head. Simone said Martinez was wearing ear protection and "probably didn't hear" the coaster.

Martinez is the third person to die in park accidents since 1999.

The amusement park is about 18 miles from Hartford.
