Easy to get hooked on video golf

(CNN) -- "Big Video Game Hunting" takes a shot at risque adventures on the golf course and hangs with one woman who's trying to rid the world of evil -- but that's the easy part of her battle. She's also gotta deal with a raging case of teenage angst.
"Outlaw Golf," available on the Xbox, is for gamers looking for something just a little different. As Jeanne Kim, associate editor with Electronic Gaming Monthly told us, you'll find, "a lot of crass humor, a lot of scantly clad women, and a lot of caricatured characters that you can play with."
And you'll get spanked on the links if you can't dominate the controls. According to Kim, "you can't expect to master this right away." That's because "Outlaw Golf" requires players to navigate the toggle stick on the Xbox, a feature that Kim says not a lot of golf gamers are accustomed to doing.
But there's hope for those not playing well: Just turn to your caddie and grab an iron, because if you beat him or her with it, it will help your game.
"Outlaw Golf" contains lots of what Jeanne Kim calls, "weird humor."
Another game for the Xbox we're profiling this week is "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
As if a 17-year old girl doesn't have enough to deal with, Buffy in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is saddled with the responsibility of getting rid of wicked creatures foaming at the mouth to take over the world.
But according to Kim, Buffy handles it all in stride.
"Buffy definitively kicks a lot of butt in this game, and on top of that she gets these slayer moves which are kind of John Woo, 'Matrix' style animations that look really cool when you play it."
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is enhanced with voices from the show's characters, and Buffy's stomping grounds such as Sunnydale High School are incorporated into the game.
Playing "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is a lot easier on the skull than "Outlaw Golf."
"As long as you know how to press a button, you should be fine," Kim says.
"Outlaw Golf" is published by Simon and Schuster and the developer is Hypnotix. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is published by Electronic Arts and the developer is The Collective.
