The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Palestinian was killed by Israeli troops.

The gunman opened fire about 7 a.m. (12 a.m. EST) on the greenhouses of Bedolah settlement -- part of the Gush Katif settlement block.

One of the workers was injured seriously and the other moderately.

An Israeli soldier was lightly injured in an exchange of fire with the gunman.

In the West Bank, the IDF destroyed the houses of the two Palestinian gunmen who opened fire on a Likud polling station and the nearby central bus station in Beit Shean on Thursday, killing six Israelis. The two gunmen were killed by Israeli police. (Full story)

The houses -- in the village of Jelaboun, east of Jenin -- belonged to Omar Muhammad Abu Roub and Youssuf Muhammad Abu Roub of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement.
