Novak faces Philippoussis in China
SHANGHAI, China -- Top seed Jiri Novak and third seed Mark Philippoussis will clash in Sunday's ATP Shanghai Open final. Czech Novak, seeking his second title of the year, came back strongly after losing the first set to beat Australian Wayne Arthurs 6-7 6-3 6-2. Arthurs' compatriot Philippoussis beat Robin Soderling of Sweden 6-4 6-4, rallying from a break down in the second set. Arthurs' serve threatened to over-power Novak in the first set, which the Australian woon 9/7 in the tiebreak with a second serve ace. But Arthurs double-faulted at break point in the second and then collapsed to an irretrievable 4-0 deficit in the third. "After losing the first set I played better," said Novak. "I just made great returns and turned everything around."
