Kaiserslautern ready to sell Klose
KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany -- Kaiserslautern chairman Rene C. Jaggi has revealed that Miroslav Klose will be sold as the club look to ease their precarious financial situation. The 25-year-old German international has scored six goals this season to help Kaiserslautern move away from the relegation zone but Jaggi has invited bids of five million euros ($588 million) for the player. "We have to come to a solution because of the five million euros loan we took out for him," Jaggi told German sports channel DSF. "Klose can go for this amount in the summer. We have little chance of keeping him." Jaggi feels Polish-born Klose, who is a boyhood Kaiserslautern fan, needs a move to a big club to take the next step in his development. "There are a lot of coaches in Europe who like the look of him," explained Jaggi. "Klose needs a move to become a top-class international striker." Bayern Munich have been strongly linked with the marksman in the past and coach Ottmar Hitzfeld admits Klose is still an option despite the capture of 18.75 million-euro Dutchman Roy Makaay. "He is one of the players that is on our wish-list," declared Hitzfeld. "It is a dream for every player to one day play for Bayern," Klose said in an interview with German magazine Kicker.
