Viduka snubbed by crisis-hit Leeds
LONDON, England -- Crisis-hit Leeds left out star striker Mark Viduka from their 4-1 home defeat to Arsenal on Saturday because of "disciplinary reasons." Reports claimed that the Australian international had turned up late for training this week, but manager Peter Reid did not want to elaborate. "I'll keep that private," he said. "It was a difficult decision. You don't do things that lightly. There can't be rules for one and different rules for others," added Reid who is fighting for his own future. Defeat to Premier League leaders Arsenal capped a disastrous week for Leeds, who reported record losses to the London Stock Exchange and were beaten by Manchester United in the League Cup on Wednesday. Saturday's loss was their seventh Premiership defeat of the season and they are second bottom, with the financial implications of a relegation looming large. Viduka, who has been struggling with a back injury, was linked to a number of leading European clubs in the summer and may well now be sold in the winter transfer window.
