Diesler adds to Bayern's problems
BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- Bayern Munich's Sebastian Deisler is a doubtful starter for Wednesday's Champions League game at home to Olympique Lyon, which fellow midfielder Owen Hargreaves will definitely miss.
German international Deisler missed training on Monday because of the thigh injury which forced him to be substituted in Saturday's 2-0 Bundesliga defeat by Schalke 04.
"We have to wait but it is very doubtful that he will play,' coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said.
The German champions still have to make do without England's Hargreaves, who is struggling with a mysterious hip injury.
Bayern are waiting for a precise diagnosis but fear that Hargreaves will remain sidelined for another few weeks.
There was some good news for Hitzfeld at the weekend when France defender Willy Sagnol, who had been out for six weeks following knee surgery, was able to turn out for Bayern's amateur team. Hitzfeld said Sagnol had felt no pain and might play against Lyon.
