MADRID, Spain -- Real Madrid extended their lead at the top of the Spanish Liga with a 2-1 win over arch rivals Barcelona -- their first league win at the Nou Camp in 20 years.
Brazilian duo Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo fired the Spanish champions into a 2-0 lead with Patrick Kluivert replying late on for the home side.
Deportivo Coruna moved up to second, three points behind Madrid, with a 1-0 win over Malaga.
Barcelona's defeat, which followed a 5-1 loss to Malaga in midweek, drops them to eighth place.
Real took the lead towards the end of an evenly-matches first half when Zinedine Zidane pulled the ball back for Roberto Carlos to unleash a fierce 20-meter drive which deflected off Barca defender Michael Reiziger into the home net.
David Beckham set up Raul with a golden opportunity early in the second half, but Real's captain shot over the bar.
Instead it was former Barca favorite Ronaldo who doubled Real's lead on 74 minutes with a well-placed shot.
Patrick Kluivert's header seven minutes from time made for a nervous finish for the visitors, but with goalkeeper Iker Casillas in top form they held on comfortably.
Defender Joan Capdevila scored on 59 minutes as Deportivo picked up their first win in four games to move level on points with leaders Madrid.
Fourth-placed Osasuna continued their impressive run of form with a 3-2 win over Celta Vigo.
Australian striker John Aloisi scored twice for the Pamplona side and then made the third for Ibrahima Bakayoko.
Jose Ignacio leveled after Aloisi's 29th minute opener, but Catanha's second was an injury time consolation for Celta.
Real Betis claimed their first win in seven matches with a stunning 4-0 win at Real Sociedad, which left last season's runners-up third from bottom of the table.
Joaquin scored twice for Betis, who went ahead through Capi after just five minutes. Juanito was also on target.
