BEIJING, China (AP) -- It made it to space and back. Now China's Shenzhou 5 capsule is going on display.

The re-entry capsule that carried astronaut Yang Liwei into orbit and deposited him back on Earth will be on exhibit Friday morning at the Millennium Monument in western Beijing, the city's fire department confirmed.

There was no word on how long it would remain there.

The Millennium Monument, located in a vast public square near the headquarters of China Central Television, the government broadcaster, was the site where thousands gathered in celebration last week hours after Yang safely landed on the Inner Mongolian grasslands.

The capsule has been undergoing exhaustive tests after its landing Thursday. It returned from Inner Mongolia by train late last week, visibly not much the worse for wear.
