(CNN) -- A commercial New Zealand television channel has been embarrassed by a caption it aired labelling U.S. President George W. Bush a "professional fascist."
New Zealand's TV3 has apologized for the caption which screened during the weather segment of the station's main evening news bulletin on Wednesday night.
About 360,000 people would have seen the caption which aired for a number of seconds before the error was realized.
TV3 spokesman Roger Beaumont told the New Zealand Herald newspaper the network was thoroughly investigating the mistake.
"It was an absolute case of human error. The fact that it made it to air was extremely unfortunate and we apologize for any offence that may have been taken," the paper reports him saying.
