(CNN) -- A Pakistani engineer working in Afghanistan for the U.S. government has been killed and another seriously wounded when their vehicle came under automatic weapons fire, a company executive told CNN.
Another three men in the Toyota Jeep were slightly wounded, Fatima Kazmi, chief executive of Bahar Global, said Monday.
"This is a terrorist act, but we will continue working on our projects," she said.
Kazmi identified the dead man as Anwar Shah, chief engineer for Rozgan Projects in Ghazni, in eastern Afghanistan.
The men were in the last of a four-vehicle convoy that was driving from one construction site to another for Bahar Global, which is a subcontractor for Louis Berger, a U.S. construction company that is involved in 12 construction projects in Rozgan District, and whose contractors have been working in the country without incident for two years, she said.
And on Saturday at least 15 people were wounded after a bomb attached to a bicycle exploded in Kandahar's main square. (Bicycle bomb injures 15)
