TOKYO, Japan (CNN) -- David Beckham scored his first goal for Real Madrid with a trademark freekick in a 3-0 win over J-League side FC Tokyo.

The England midfielder, playing his second game for the Spanish side, opened the scoring on 37 minutes, bending the ball into the top corner after Santiago Solari had been tripped on the left-edge of the penalty area.

Argentine midfielder Solari doubled Real's lead just before halftime, steering in a rebound after Javier Portillo's shot had been blocked.

Brazilian striker Ronaldo came on as a substitute to add the third on 89 minutes with a clever step-over and shot from the edge of the box.

Beckham, who joined Real in a US$40-million move from Manchester United last month, made his debut on Saturday in a 4-0 win over a Chinese select team in Beijing in the opening match of the Spanish champions' Asian promotional tour.

In that match he was substituted after 73 minutes but he looked more comfortable on Tuesday against Tokyo, playing the full game in a central midfield role.

"Obviously it's nice to get a goal in only my second game," said Beckham. "I enjoyed the game today. The team played good football and we got what we wanted out of the game."

"We saw the real David Beckham today," said Madrid coach Carlos Quieroz. "He's had to make some adjustments but he was very good tonight and I'm very satisfied with his play."
