Hard Wired: Cameras
CANNES, France (CNN) -- There are plenty of gadgets to help the business traveller stay in touch while away from family and friends. CNN gave businessman Richard Lander three to test on his recent trip to a 3G exhibition in Cannes, France. 1. Cool-iCam MicroCam ($49.99) What is it? Digital camera that takes still images, converts sequential pictures to video clips using the included software, and is a web cam for Internet use. Richard's verdict: We tried to use the web cam, and it didn't work and we had to rely on web chat, and even then I had to phone up my family and say I'm on the web chat, because my daughter doesn't spend all her day on the computer. 2. Casio Wrist Camera ($395) What is it? Wrist watch camera Richard's verdict: It's very good in a James Bond sort of way. You can take pictures -- it's like spying really. But frankly the pictures are a bit rubbish in quality. 3. Nokia 7650 ($283.50) T-Mobile MMS price per picture from $0.33 (roaming rates) What is it? A phone with an integrated digital camera. Pictures can be stored, downloaded or sent as a multimedia message Richard's verdict: The mobile phone camera worked fantastically. I could send pictures back to my wife and children, show them what I was doing in Cannes enjoying the sunshine. I would take that again.
