LONDON, England (CNN) -- Employment for Saddam Hussein lookalikes may have dried up in Iraq of recent weeks so an offer of work in London's theaterland for those who resemble the ousted Iraqi dictator may come as welcome relief.
An advertisement placed in this week's The Stage newspaper issued a call for Saddam lookalikes to star in a satirical play to be staged in the British capital this summer.
Flak jackets and berets are provided while "moustaches will be available for clean-shaven applicants," the advert said.
The fortunate lookalike will follow in the footsteps of doubles for Slobodan Milosevic, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and ousted Argentine dictator General Leopoldo Galtieri who have trodden the boards in London's West End, according to Reuters.
Those who resemble the dictator are invited to a rehearsal in west London on May 1.
Saddam has long rumored to have used lookalikes and decoys to maintain his personal safety. There was much speculation during the recent war over whether claimed appearances on videotape and in person were by the president himself or one of his doubles.
