Israeli forces arrested one of the alleged bombers and a conspirator in Qalqilya, the IDF said, adding that both are from the Islamic fundamentalist group Hamas.

Near Nablus, two Islamic Jihad activists intending to carry out a suicide bombing were arrested, the IDF said.

Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist organization, has been labeled by the U.S. State Department as a terrorist organization. The group's military wing, Izzedine al Qassam, has admitted responsibility for terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians as well as attacks against the Israeli military.

Islamic Jihad is a militant group dedicated to the creation of an Islamic Palestinian state and the destruction of Israel, and has carried out large-scale suicide bombings against Israeli civilians and military targets.

The IDF said Israeli forces also demolished the West Bank houses of two Palestinian terrorists, including a female suicide bomber who killed six people at a Jerusalem bus stop last April.

The other house belonged to a man who carried out a shooting attack in Jerusalem in March, the IDF said.

In southern Gaza, an injured Palestinian surrendered to Israeli forces after a failed attempt to infiltrate a Jewish settlement, according to the IDF and Palestinian security sources.

The Palestinian opened fire at an IDF post near Gush Katif, a block of settlements in southern Gaza, and the soldiers returned fire, according to the IDF. He was injured by a grenade he was holding in his hand, the IDF said.

According to the IDF, the other 18 Palestinians arrested in the West Bank included six Islamic Jihad activists arrested in the Hebron area; one Hamas activist arrested in Tarkumia near Hebron; one Hamas activist arrested in Bani Naim near Hebron; four Palestinians arrested in Nablus; two arrested in Talousa near Nablus; two Islamic Jihad activists arrested in the Bethlehem area; and two others arrested in Qalqilya.
