Police: Saudi car held a ton of explosives

Story Tools

(CNN) -- The car that was captured when Saudi police broke up a planned terror attack last week in Riyadh, carried a ton of explosives, more than enough to create a huge explosion, according to police.

The car had been painted the same color as military cars to help the militants get close to their target, officials said.

Two militants were killed Tuesday when police intercepted the car after getting a tip about a planned attack.

Police Thursday released the dead men's names and said they had been on a wanted list.

A third militant got away during the gunfight and is still being sought, officials said.
