TOKYO, Japan (Reuters) -- Toyota Motor Corp. has raised its group global sales forecast for the business year to end-March by 1.2 percent to 6.65 million units from 6.57 million.

It said Thursday it now expects to sell 2.15 million vehicles in North America, instead of the 2.12 million units projected three months ago.

Its target for Europe is 880,000 units, instead of 860,000 units.

It maintained its Japan sales forecast of 2.3 million units.

The Toyota Motor group includes truck maker Hino Motors Ltd and minivehicle maker Daihatsu Motor Co.

Toyota Motor, Japan's biggest company by market capitalization, finished 2.65 percent higher Thursday at 3490 yen, well ahead of a 0.17 percent gain for the Nikkei 225.
