(CNN) -- Yoga has been around for more than 5000 years, and thanks to celebrities like Madonna, it has quickly become one of the fastest growing fitness trends in the United States. But buff arms and a yoga-booty aren't the only reasons Americans are flocking to yoga.
This "mind-body" system of postures, like downward-facing dog and cobra, can ease stress.
If you haven't been able to find the time to break away from the office to get to a yoga class, a couple of companies are bringing the yoga class to your office... actually right to your desk. (And we could all use a little stress relief at work, right?)
"Yoga at Your Desk " is a CD-Rom featuring a 20-minute office yoga routine. The program was shot in Mexico, and takes office workers through a series of stretches.
In addition to the current title, "Yoga at Your Desk" has plans for programs from Bali, Costa Rica and the Enchanted Forest coming out soon.
Now if you like a little more flexibility with your yoga, you may want to check out Bodywisdom Media's "15-Minute Office Yoga."
"15-Minute Office Yoga" offers several 15-minute yoga programs like "Caffeine Substitute," "Computer Break" and "Stress Reduction." You can choose based on what kind of day you're having.
Be sure to check with your doctor before starting any exercise program, but you may be interested to know that according to the International Association of Yoga Therapists, benefits of regular yoga practice include less anxiety and hostility, better concentration and memory and lower blood pressure.
And although you might not end up with Madonna's buff arms or that coveted yoga booty, at least you may be able to make it through the workday.
