Olympic torch arrives in Moscow
MOSCOW, Russia -- The Olympic flame arrived in Moscow on Saturday, 24 years after the city hosted the summer Games.
The 1980 Olympics host city Moscow became the 28th stage of the global relay of the Olympic torch.
The flame is passing through 34 cities ahead of the official opening of the Games in Athens on August 13.
Russia's Olympic Committee president Leonid Tyagachev was the first of 120 sports and media personalities, who carried the torch in Moscow's 38-kilometre distance from the city's western region Poklonnaya Gora to the walls of the Kremlin, the ancient city centre.
