LONDON, England -- Ireland's Padraig Harrington completes an impressive 16-man field for next week's World Match Play Championship, organisers have said.
The world number eight joins three other members of Europe's victorious Ryder Cup team, Lee Westwood, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Thomas Levet, and captain Bernhard Langer at Wentworth.
"It will be my first tournament back in Europe after the Ryder Cup and I think it will be very special playing with some of my Ryder Cup colleagues and in front of our loyal home crowd," Langer said.
"I watched a whole lot of fantastic match play at the Ryder Cup and I am really looking forward to getting back on the course myself."
Harrington, runner-up in the 2001 World Match Play, said: "I really enjoy match play and, with such a strong field, it should be a very exciting week."
World number one Vijay Singh and number two Ernie Els, defending champion at Wentworth and record five-times winner of the event, head the field alongside British Open champion Todd Hamilton and U.S. Open winner Retief Goosen.
Canadian Mike Weir, U.S. Ryder Cup team member Chris Riley, Americans Jeff Maggert and Steve Flesch, South Korean K.J. Choi, Argentina's Angel Cabrera and Briton Scott Drummond complete the line-up.
The World Match Play Championship is officially sanctioned by the European Tour with the results counting for world ranking points for the first time.
All 16 players will compete in the opening round of 36-hole matches on Thursday.
