AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -- Erwin Koeman has signed a three year contract to take over as coach of Dutch first division side RKC Waalwijk at the end of the season, he told Dutch television.

Koeman, 42, the older brother of Ajax Amsterdam boss Ronald Koeman, has been at PSV Eindhoven since 1998 as youth coach and since 2002 as assistant to coach Guus Hiddink.

Koeman said that discussions with RKC's technical manager Marcel Brands had convinced him to accept his first post as head coach.

Martin Jol, the current coach at RKC, has already said that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. RKC are 13th in the 18-team league.
