Oliseh shown door after punch-up

BERLIN, Germany -- Nigerian Sunday Oliseh has been shown the door by Bundesliga VfL Bochum following a punch-up with Iranian international team-mate Vahid Hashemian.

Nigerian international Oliseh, 29, broke the nose of Hashemian after the 0-0 draw with Hansa Rostock on February 28 but insists he is not a troublemaker.

"I think that I will return to the Bundesliga," he said. "I was having my best year on the pitch and am in the form of my life."

Oliseh, who had been on loan at Bochum from Borussia Dortmund, hopes German clubs are not put off by his fracas with Hashemian.

"It would be wrong for people to judge me," said the 1996 Olympic Games winner. "I was in the Bundesliga for six years and there was never any trouble."

Oliseh's contract with Dortmund runs to 2005 but coach Matthias Sammer has so far deemed the African ace surplus to requirements.
