Stratev quits as coach of Vardar
SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Zoran Stratev has resigned as coach of Macedonia champions Vardar Skopje following a recent run of poor results.
Stratev will be replaced by his assistant Toni Jakimovski.
The coach stepped down following Vardar's humiliating 5-2 defeat in Sunday's derby against Pobeda Prilep.
The club are currently fourth in Macedonia's top flight with 32 points, seven points behind leaders Pobeda Prilep.
Stratev took over last summer and under his leadership the club reached the third qualification round of the Champions League, before being knocked out by Czech side Sparta Prague.
