LONDON, England (CNN) -- Champions League semifinalists Porto remained at number one for a second week on the latest CNN/World Soccer Top 10, while UEFA Cup semifinalists Valencia shot up to second place.

The defending Portuguese champions edged closer to another title with a goalless draw at Nacional on Wednesday, which followed a 1-0 win over Maritimo at the weekend.

Valencia rose from seventh to second after they took over at the top of the Spanish standings from Real Madrid with a 1-0 win over Real Zaragoza.

In the UEFA Cup, a 2-1 home win over Bordeaux on Wednesday completed a 4-2 aggregate victory and set-up a semifinal with Spanish rivals Villarreal.

English side Chelsea dropped one place to third after they lost ground on Arsenal in the English Premier League title race by losing 3-2 at Aston Villa.

Arsenal climbed up three places to fifth as they put their Champions League defeat by Chelsea behind them with a 4-2 win over Liverpool and a goalless draw at Newcastle -- extending their unbeaten league run to 32 games.

French side Monaco climbed one place to stay ahead of the Gunners in fourth place.

The weekly CNN/World Soccer Top 10 is compiled by staff from CNN's World Sport show along with the team at World Soccer magazine.
