Brazil star Emerson joins Juventus

MILAN, Italy -- Juventus have signed Brazilian midfielder Emerson from Serie A rivals Roma for 28 million euros ($33.75 million), the Turin club have confirmed.
The 28-year-old Emerson, who has agreed a four-year contract, joins up with former Roma coach Fabio Capello at the Delle Alpi stadium.
The former Bayer Leverkusen player has won 55 international caps.
Juventus midfielder Matteo Brighi, 23, has moved to Roma for 16 million euros as part of the deal.
The transfer is a blow to Real Madrid, after the Spanish giants openly expressed their interest in signing the player.
