BUCHAREST, Romania -- Universitatea Craiova coach Mircea Rednic has quit just 10 days after he was reinstated to the job, club president Pavel Badea has said.
Rednic was fired by the Romanian club this month but reinstalled after angry fans besieged the club's headquarters.
Craiova, who have won only once in eight games this season, drew 1-1 with FCM Bacau at the weekend and this time fans called for Rednic's resignation.
"I am baffled," said Badea. "He had promised me we would fight together to bring the team back to normal but he left me here all alone."
Rednic was not available for comment but after Saturday's match he said: "There is no way out for Craiova."
"The only solution I see for the moment is to make myself coach of the team," Badea added. "But nobody else wants to support me in this desperate attempt."
