MUNICH, Germany -- Peruvian striker Jose Paolo Guerrero, who scored twice in Bayern Munich's 3-1 win at Bochum on Sunday, will be offered a new long-term contract the club said Monday.
The 20-year-old's deal with the German club does not expire until the end of the 2005/2006 season, but chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is keen to extend it.
"Paulo has developed superbly. We will sit down at the right time, but there is nothing standing in the way of an extension to the contract," he said.
Guerrero scored in the 3-0 victory over Hanover on November 6 in only his second Bundesliga game, and followed that up with two goals in the defeat of Bochum Sunday.
In between those two games, he scored twice for Bayern's amateur reserve team Tuesday in a 3-2 victory in the German Cup over Eintracht Braunschweig.
"It's been a sensational week," Guerrero said after the Bochum match. "I will never forget it."
On Wednesday he is scheduled to play his second full international game for Peru against Chile in Lima.
