NEW YORK (CNN) -- Part of a balcony at a Midtown Manhattan hotel fell 15 stories Friday morning, injuring at least two people, authorities said.
Firefighters were on the scene at the Days Inn at Eighth Avenue and West 49th Street, but few details about what happened were available.
Authorities said one of the two victims was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital. The victim was reported to be in stable condition.
A fire department spokesman said a parapet, or a low protective wall that sits along the edge of a balcony, collapsed and fell.
The structure was estimated to be 25 feet by 30 feet.
