41 killed in Nepal clashes

KATHMANDU, Nepal (CNN) -- At least 30 Maoist rebels and 11 security personnel were killed in two separate clashes Tuesday in Nepal, the Royal Nepal Army sources said.
Most of the rebel deaths took place in the far western distirct of Kailali in the village of Bhagwanpur, the Army said. Six security personnel were also killed there.
Five security personnel were killed in Krisnabhir in Dhanding in central Nepal, where their transport vehicle ran into land mine, the Army said.
Nepal's government has been fighting a Maoist insurgency for years.
