New arrest in Madrid bombings

MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- Civil Guards have arrested a Spanish man in Spain's Canary Islands on suspicion of a link to the Madrid train bombings, a National Court spokeswoman told CNN.
The suspect will appear next week before a judge at the National Court.
The court is handling the investigation into the March 11 commuter train bombings in Madrid that killed 190 people and wounded more than 1,800.
Spain's Canary Islands are in the Atlanta Ocean, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) off the western coast of Morocco.
Authorities did not immediately reveal the precise time of the arrest nor on which of the seven islands that make up the Canaries the arrest occurred.
Authorities have said the bombings were the work of Islamic militants acting in the name of al Qaeda, and a Spanish judge has charged 20 people in the case, most of them Moroccans.
Spanish authorities have asked for international arrest warrants for more than 10 people for alleged links to the bombings.
They also maintain a separate list of others being sought, although international arrest warrants have not necessarily been asked for those people.
