JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Israeli soldiers shot and killed an 18-year-old Palestinian on Sunday in Beita near the West Bank town of Nablus while carrying out routine village searches, according to the Israeli military and Palestinian officials.
The Israel Defense Forces said troops confronted a crowd that was throwing stones, and when they saw a Palestinian lighting a Molotov cocktail, they shot him.
The governor of Nablus said the man was shot in the stomach.
In another incident Sunday, Palestinian security sources said a Palestinian man wearing a belt of explosives was killed as he was leaving the northern West Bank village of Jinsafut, between Qalqilya and the settlement of Immanuel.
Israeli sources said the suicide bomber was en route to attack Israeli targets when the explosives detonated prematurely.
