BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Deadly insurgent attacks that have come to typify the persistent warfare in Iraq have left at least seven people dead in two volatile regions north of Baghdad.
And in the capital, 11 people died in three incidents over the last 24 hours as a full-on assault on Falluja dominates world headlines.
Police said at least three people died and several others were wounded in a suicide car bomb attack targeting an Iraqi National Guard base north of Kirkuk.
Gen. Torhan Yousif, Kirkuk's police chief, said National Guard members were among those who were wounded in this attack. Kirkuk is 235 miles (378 kilometers) north of Baghdad.
Near Baquba, four insurgents died and 15 other people were wounded when insurgents attacked two police stations.
Diyala province police chief Maj.-Gen. Waleed Khalid Abdul Salam told CNN that the police stations were attacked at about 7 a.m., one in the town of Mafraq and the other in the town of Buhriz.
At Buhriz, Abdul Salam said four insurgents died. Wounded were six police officers and four civilians.
At Mafraq, he said there were five people wounded -- one of whom was a police officer and the others were civilians caught in crossfire.
Baquba is 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of Baghdad.
The Interior Ministry said 11 people died and others were wounded in attacks on two hospitals and a church in Baghdad over the last 24 hours.
Col. Adnan Abdul Rahman said two people were killed and one wounded in a mortar attack on the Al-Alwiya hospital in eastern Baghdad.
On Monday night, six people died and 22 were wounded in a car bomb attack against Al-Yarmouk hospital in Baghdad. Most of the victims were police.
Three people were killed and 40 were wounded in the Monday car bomb attack targeting the church in al-Doura, he said.
Rahman said that 16-armed insurgents stormed the church and told people to leave. As the people departed, a car bomb detonated.
On Monday, the death tolls for British and U.S. troops increased as a result of the two latest attacks on multinational forces.
A British soldier with the Black Watch Regiment was killed and two others were wounded when a roadside bomb ripped through the armored vehicle they were traveling in near Baghdad, the British Ministry of Defense said.
The fatality raises the death toll of British troops in Iraq to 74, the fifth death of a Black Watch soldier since the unit's recent deployment from Basra to south of Baghdad.
As for U.S. troops, a Task Force Baghdad soldier was killed when a patrol came under small arms fire in the eastern section of the capital. This brings the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq to 1,134.
