NEW YORK -- Vitali Klitschko's heavyweight title defense against Hasim Rahman is likely to be rearranged for June 18 after the champion suffered an injury in training.
Klitschko pulled a thigh muscle, forcing the postponement of the fight, originally scheduled for April 30 at Madison Square Garden.
Klitschko said the injury would only set him back a few weeks, and promoters said they were working on a switch to June 18.
Rahman's promoter, Don King, offered a fight between WBA champion John Ruiz and James Toney for the April 30 date, but so far has had no takers.
Rahman held the WBC title for a brief time after knocking out Lennox Lewis.
Lewis knocked him out in the rematch, but Rahman is considered the strongest challenger yet for Klitschko, who beat Danny Williams in his most recent fight in December.
