Armstrong teammate could miss Tour
BOGOTA, Colombia -- Columbian mountain specialist Victor Hugo Pena says he may miss the Tour de France after injuring his back while falling before Sunday's Paris-Roubaix.
Pena will have to wear a back support for up to four weeks after cracking two vertebrae in the fall which saw him abandon the race after just 20km.
The news will be a major blow to six-times Tour champion Lance Armstrong, as 30-year-old Pena is one of his key domestiques in the Discovery Channel team.
"I am worried about my preparations for the Tour de France, " said Pena.
"I will have to rest the injury for two weeks and then we will see how much time it will take me to fully recover.
Pena said that his plans were to compete in the Tour of Colombia in May folowed by the Dauphine Libere in the French Alps and then the Tour de France as his main objective in July.
