Goosen faces Ferrie in Match Play
WENTWORTH, England -- Top seed Retief Goosen has been drawn to face Kenneth Ferrie in the first round of the World Match Play at Wentworth. Goosen, who has won his last two events at the China and German Masters, will face Ferrie over 36 holes. The World Match Play has the richest prize in an official golf tournament -- $1.78 million -- but has not been able to attract the world's top players. Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson are all skipping the 16-man event, which starts on Thursday. Six-time champion Ernie Els is absent as he recovers from knee surgery. "It's going to be a tough one to sit out," said Els. "This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year and one I really look forward to competing in." Behind the fifth-ranked Goosen, Angel Cabrera is seeded second and will face Trevor Immelman. The other pairings: Luke Donald (3) vs Bernhard Langer Michael Campbell (4) vs Geoff Ogilvy Tim Clark (5) vs Steve Elkington Thomas Bjorn (6) vs Paul McGinley David Howell (7) vs Jose-Maria Olazabal Colin Montgomerie (8) vs Mark Hensby
