Seve plans return at Spanish Open
MADRID, Spain -- Seve Ballesteros will return to competition at the October 13-16 Madrid Open, the Spanish golf legend announced on Wednesday. "I am happy and ready to return to competition," said 48-year-old Ballesteros, who has not played a competitive round for more than 18 months. "I never retired. I was always going to return at some point and I think this is the best moment," said the three-time British Open champion and twice US Masters winner. Ballesteros admitted he has been struggling to overcome back and weight worries in recent years but now feels that both problems are behind him. "I am at my best weight for the last 10 years and I feel better than ever," said the Spaniard in Madrid. "I have been preparing for this tournament for the last two months and working really hard to get back to my best."
