Frazier ended Dechy's hopes of a first tour title since 1993

QUEBEC CITY, Canada -- Top seed Nathalie Dechy and number three Marion Bartoli were both beaten in the semifinals of the Quebec WTA tournament, ending hopes of an all-French final.

American veteran Amy Frazier, the sixth seed, upset Dechy 6-4 7-5, leaving her opponent still without finals appearance this year and without a WTA Tour title since January 2003.

Swedish eighth seed Sofia Arvidsson ousted Bartoli, who trailed 6-4, 1-0 when she retired, complaining of dizziness.

Bartoli, who also had been bothered by cold spells during the first set, slipped to 0-6 in career semifinals.
