Tonga make changes to face France
YOUR E-MAIL ALERTSMARCOUSSIS, France -- Tonga have made six changes from the side crushed 48-0 by Italy last weekend for Saturday's Test against France in Toulouse. Coach Willy Ofahengaue named 14 players based in Europe when he announced his starting line-up. Three of the starters, flanker and captain Viliami Vaki, wing Viliami Fifita and center Suka Hufanga play rugby in France with Perpignan, Bayonne and Béziers. Six are based in England, three in Wales, one in Ireland and one in Italy. Ranked 20th in the IRB standings, Tonga are the only team from the Pacific islands to have ever defeated France, 20-16 on June 16 1999 in Nuku A'lofa. France won 38-10 the only other encounter between the two countries, a group match at the 1995 World Cup in Pretoria. Team - 15-Sione Mone Tu'ipulotu; 14-Viliami Fifita, 13-Suka Hufanga, 12-Andrew Ma'lei, 11-Salesi Finau; 10-Elisi Vunipola, 9-Sioeli Nau; 8-Christopher Halaufia or Uelhi Fono, 7-Rodney Mahe, 6-Viliami Vaki (cap) 5-Mihoni Ngaumo, 4-Fakalaha Molitika, 3-Tonga Lea'aetoa, 2-Ifalemi Taukafa, 1-Soane Tongau'uhia. Replacements - 16-Viliami Ma'asi, 17-Alani Maka, 18-Talite Vaioleti, 19-Maama Molitika, 20-Soane Havea, 21-Fangatapu Apikotoa, 22- Epeli Taione or Samuela Lisala.
