Late double keeps Alkmaar in touch
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands -- AZ Alkmaar scored two late goals to win 3-1 at Heerenveen and stay in touch with Dutch leaders PSV Eindhoven.
Belgian Stein Huysegems opened the AZ scoring four minutes before the break netting after a scramble.
Petter Hansson headed home an equaliser after 76 minutes but Tarik Sektioui restored the lead for AZ two minutes before time and Olaf Lindenbergh made it safe in injury time.
AZ remain second with 49 points after 20 matches, two behind PSV who beat struggling Roosendaal 4-1 on Wednesday.
The top two clash in Alkmaar next Saturday.
Ajax are third with 41 points and host Twente Enschede on Sunday. Feyenoord are fourth on 35 after a 7-2 romp at De Graafschap on Friday.
ADO Den Haag, who celebrated their centenary on Monday, went eight points clear of the relegation zone after a 2-0 win over bottom side Den Bosch. Ferrie Bodde and new signing Edson scored.
